With hours to spend, I wandered around Schiphol Airport aimlessly …
Then I remembered about a certain free museum at this airport.
Rijksmuseum Schiphol 📍Holland Boulevard, between Pier E and Pier F (after passport control).
In 2002, Rijksmuseum became the first art museum in the world to open a branch at an airport. The Schiphol branch of the Rijksmuseum displays eleven 19th-century landscape paintings showcasing how the portrayal of the landscape changed with the rise of industry. The selection here regularly rotates within the main museum’s collection. Definitely a unique opportunity to see this tiny, carefully arranged exhibit! OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY – FREE OF CHARGE. The adjacent gift shop selling souvenirs from the Rijksmuseum and other Dutch museums is not to be missed!! Check out my special Van Gogh’s Starry Night neck cushion (€14.95). 😍
